MEDICAL EDUCATION IN PERSON -CENTERED MEDICINE

The paradigm shift in medical science, grounded in the epistemological pillars of interactionism and the teleonomy of human nature, is achieved through training in the person‑centered clinical method, theorized by prof.Giuseppe R.Brera, and taught at the Milan Medical School of the Ambrosiana University since 1998. This method introduces the “Diacrisi,” which culminates in the diagnosis of the person. PCCM leads to substantial reductions in suffering and healthcare costs, as shown by research. (1) (2) (3)

The paradigm shift in Medicine and Medical Science necessitates updating medical faculty and physicians. Currently, worldwide, there is only one teaching program in Person‑Centered Medicine that follows the quality procedures of the Milan Medical School of Ambrosiana University

The International Program in Person‑Centered Medicine (WSPCM) represents a strategic opportunity in medical education to align physicians and medical students with the paradigm shift transforming contemporary medical science and clinical practice.

This new paradigm, founded on interactionism and teleonomy within human nature, redefines medicine as a science of the person—integrating biological, psychological, and existential dimensions through dynamic relationships and purposeful processes inherent to life.

The program promotes the acquisition of the person‑centered clinical method, enabling professionals to move beyond disease‑centered approaches toward a model that recognizes the patient as an autonomous, interactive, and teleonomic being.

By fostering this scientific and educational renewal, the WSPCM contributes to the advancement of global health and the development of a medicine that truly serves the person in their full human reality.

Enrollment is now open for physicians, educators, and medical students who wish to participate in this international initiative and be part of the evolution of medical science toward a person‑centered future.

The program is delivered by the Medical School of Milan of Ambrosiana University, under the scientific coordination of the WSPCM.
